I've heard there was somebody in California?.....rebuilding the Unitac style pumps...

From what I can recall...it is not an inexpensive process..

If you need a new fuel pump the GM # is 6470670 or AC #40931

I bought another one but wasn't sure if this was a specific part number for the car as it seems to be original and worthy of keeping and rebuilding.

All of 1974 4 BBL Firebird have the same number GM 6470670, AC 40931, or if you go to non-GM Carter M6405, Airtex 40931 or TRW 55256. All work for the 400,455, or the SD-455 in 74.

The main thing with a correct restoration is that the fuel pump have the correct plating, part number stamp, and the AC logo. This NOS pump cover all of that. One caveat that the internals are not ethanol compatible, and is already 40 plus years old.
