Wife surprised me with a dog. This is Molly (brown one) she is quite the little spitfire! I've never had a small dog before but I'm in love with this little poop maker. lol :D

You don't have the dog. The dog has you. LOL.

Cute pups.

This is sooooooo true.
My dog is always w me. So loyal, so amazing . She’s got separation anxiety and I can’t tell you how much that factors into my day. Poor thing freaks out if I’m away from her .
I’m her emotional support animal . 😂

Here is my best friend and helper.....if he only had thumbs!

he is always by me when working on cars....have to mop up oil, etc constantly so he does not lay in it

Enjoy him while you can. We've got an ancient female boxer. We've had her for 14 years, and we think she is 16 - 17 yrs old. We got her from a guy who was living in an apartment beside my oldest son. He knew her for 1.5 yrs and she was fully grown when he got her, so we know she's been fully grown at least 15 - 16 years. She's got arthritis, cataracts, takes blood pressure medicine, takes steroids, and has lost a lot of teeth, but she's still our baby.

She had some separation anxiety when we first got her, but it only took her destroying one couch to get past it. I'm afraid she's not got much time left, her passing will devastate my wife.

Congratulations on the new fur baby.:)

Go ahead and get another one now...not too young. You'd be surprised how much SHE might enjoy it....the Boxer that is... Debatable how much your wife might at first but as you know, they'll grow on you.

We're retiring soon, we have our old boxer and a cat about the same age. I want to get a small motor home and maybe go to a few shows as a vendor and spend some time at the beach in it. Once both the dog and cat are gone, we'll probably get another dog. We have always kept the dog and cat separated after some earlier incidents when they were young.

DOGS ARE GOOD FOR THE SOUL

Our old dog BELVEDERE passed about a year ago and he was such a part of us that we decided to fill the emptiness created,
not to replace but continue all the good things pets do for us without even knowing it.

We now have BEANS who is just over 1 year now and just under 100lbs.
He likes to survey the front yard and stands just a few inches under my wife who is 5'5'

BEANS get's along great with my Daughters dog FRANK,
Yes, FRANK & BEANS ;) :)

Dogs are good for the soul!

Cool! Nice looking pup!

I like my dogs more than most people. They are ALWAYS glad to see me, never complain about anything, and don't spend all my money. We just had another litter of Min Pins and kept one of the pups. We named here Coco.....

I love my dog. English black lab. Great girl. Friendly and strong hunter. But she hates to go in the Firebird. Also won't hang out in the garage. I think the noise bothers her. So she is a terrible shop dog. oh well. Maybe next one.

When we brought our little American Fox Hound puppy home, I got down in the grass and laid down. He got up on my chest and sat there and howled, nose to the sky. At that point I was in HIS Pack... He has been very challenging....

Congratulations! Gotta love dogs!! I have a KNPV Dutch Shepherd....not the breed for most people as they require insane amounts mental and physical stimulation. Dogs are a way of life!

Lock your dog in the trunck of your car, for a while, open the trunk later, they're glad to see you.

Do this to your wife.........not the same result!!!

This kind of depends on how long you do it. Make it a week or so and she WILL be glad to see you!

Still have the Welch Terrier ....she has a ton of personality....a real sweetheart...But still a stubborn, no crap taking, Terrier.

My first dog was named Molly. She was a rescue, found wandering around a state road. She was a pure breed Wheaten. After her, I wound up with two more pure breed Wheatens that their owners were giving away.

I'm currently dogless. Have been for about 2 years now. On one hand I want another best buddy or two, but on the other hand I hate that I outlive them. I've been seeing a couple of Samoyeds around town. I'd love one, and perhaps a Black Russian or a Giant Schnauzer.
