Universal Joint Size Question
Can someone help me size my universal joint (UJ). My car has a curry 9inch rear connecting to a TH400 transmission. The UJ that connects to the transmission side is intact, however the UJ that connects to the Curry has lost the exposed caps. So I don't know if the UJ is dual sized or what. Is there a way to tell?

I would guess 1350. I just had to do this for my father in laws Camaro and there is a tool on the web you can Google.

Use a mic to measure the two seats on the rear and check them against the two on the shaft. I had to do the same thing when I went from an 'O' type rear back to the correct Pontiac 8.2.

Measure the UJ width and diameter at the rear pinion end.

GM 3r u-joint is the same size as Ford 1330. The difference is Ford uses external retainers and GM uses the circlips on the caps. Most aftermarket 3rd member yokes are going to use 1330 or 1350 joints. There are good YouTube videos out there on how to tell the difference between the 1330 and 1350 u-joints. Keep in mind there were a couple of different 1330 u-joints with 1.060 and 1.125 caps.
