Gen V oil pan issue
An issue I was plagued with was a light bang on sharp turns with elevation changes, such as curbs, etc. I was finally able to get the car on the lift and examine suspension for damage again - earlier eyeballing showed nothing. This time I did note the Holley swap oil pan had some decent gouges resulting from contact with the inner tie rod.

A cpouple of 5/16 screwes into the lower control arm where the steering arm contacts it solved the banging but reduced inside corner tire angle from 31° to 25°, not good for Lisbon parking garages! Another solution will need to be found... https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/ls1tech...07da8605e8.jpg |
Still making noise. Mnnh.
Back on the lift and closer scrutiny revealed the bolt heads were hitting too. https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/ls1tech...606c95e3af.jpg A visit to the lathe shaved 0.075" off the head and then a coat of paint - will watch to see if it hit anymore. https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/ls1tech...f93f554ad8.jpg https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/ls1tech...2373335a39.jpg |
