That was a nice video. If your a Pontiac fan of that time period, it is hard to find fault with anything that was said in the video. Having owned 3 421's from that period, I agree the street versions are among the very best V 8's from any manufacturer, period. They are extremely smooth with a fluid power flow as he described. Especially with a turbo 400 transmission. From 600 RPM to 5200 RPM, the torque is huge and never drops off. Extremely reliable as well. The difference between a 389 and 421 is hard to describe, but huge. Just much more of everything a 389 has to offer. 32 extra cubic inches feels like 100. 428's have a very similar feeling to me. 455's seem to work hard to make power compared to these ultra premium power plants. Great engines!
