Master power disc brake upgrade
I have a 1966 Pontiac Star Chief executive four-door. It came factory with power brakes but I got a kit to convert to disc brakes.
I don't know if I was maybe sent the kit or what. All the holes in the brackets and hardware is 1/2 inch stuff and my factory bolts I removed are 7/16 Has anybody else ever installed their kit and had this same issue? Here's the video showing the difference https://youtu.be/yFGQ_pU8EEU |
Any particular name of the company that made the kit? Or supplied it?

Any particular name of the company that made the kit? Or supplied it? I think I'd be contacting them.

Master Power Brakes.

1959-66 all have 7/16" lower holes as yours does. 1967-68 are 1/2".
I would make them send you the right kit. |
I know on at least one of the disc kits I have put on other cars that I was instructed to drill the holes out to 1/2". But as I said it was specifically part of the instructions, not a mystery they left me with.

Having to drill out the spindle and cross arm is bull****.
Not an easy task - far easier for the supplier to make them 7/16 holes and drill if needed. |
I spoke with the manufacturers this morning and sent them a video. They're sending me the correct parts and hopefully they'll be updating their website to show the correct applications

Just curious, did you get the standard legend series kit or did you upgrade to the HP legend series?
