Bathurst 1000 starts in 30 minutes

I know in the past a few members here have enjoyed the Bathurst 1000 V8 Supercars race. Not sure how you guys can tune in but it must be possible.

All new this year, Camaro Vs Mustang, GM Vs Ford.

200,000 people on the mountain watching.

Shane Van Gisbergen is driving a Camaro but it will be interesting how he runs, his qualifying was not brilliant.

I'll be watching

For some reason right now the audio and video are out of synch by 10 seconds or so, hopefully they'll fix that.

I always have to stop and think...in the US we're heading into fall and the temps are getting colder, but it's springtime for you guys down under. :)

Yes it is but it can be unpredictable. Today looks like a beautiful day up there but I think last year it was cold and heavy rain.

300klm per hour top speed expected. 161 laps.

I've driven the Bathurst track a couple of times, but only at regular road speed (it is basically a tourist road) in my LS1 powered Caprice. There are a myriad of hidden speed cameras there 24/7 just waiting to grab you. But the temptation to punch the accelerator on the straight is almost overwhelming.. :D

The link above is blocked on YouTube. I'm watching a second link but it may go down at any time so I won't post the link, if you want to watch just search on YouTube to see if there's anything available.

TV is usually on all day as come and go, not as much into it as 20 years ago.

I've enjoyed videos of that track watching the Masters series races.
