Just found out that Joel Rosen of Baldwin Motion passed away. Obviously not a Pontiac guy but legendary among the Chevy faithful. Definitely a key player when it comes to the whole muscle car era. RIP Mr. Motion.

Joel Rosen, known to legions of muscle car fans as "Mr. Motion" and as one of the founders of Baldwin-Motion, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on October 9th, 2023, after battling bladder cancer for more than a year. He was just two weeks shy of his 84th birthday, and had been admitted to Hospice Care on September 30th.

It seemed like I remember in t h e early days of his business his telephone number was the pay phone out side his shop...maybe him??? Anyone???

He definitely left behind a lasting legacy. Some serious machinery came out of that shop, with my favorite being the 70-73 Camaros and the Phase III Corvettes.

For Sure he was a "doer" vs a copier of muscle cars.

Talked to him many times about a neighbor's early Z-28 with the Cross Ram intake set-up.

Not sure if any Pontiac guys ever paid him a visit. I visited his shop one time when I was in the NY area.

He had a bunch of the LS-6 engines in his shop. No idea where his money came from.

Didn’t expect to see his name on a Pontiac from back then . There was a lot of money in that area back then….

One of the clients cars that sat out at his shop was Brooklyn heavy’s I’ll start a different thread and link to a thread on yenko about Brooklyn heavy that will be an interesting read for those who don’t know about heavy.

May he rest in peace. Still have his Pontiac Performance Guide & Catalog from 1969 when I bought my 1st Goat after my discharge. Still have that secondary gear drive somewhere. Visited L.I. location once.
