computer help

so I have an older ASUS tower AMD A8-5500 APU with Radeon(tm) HD Graphics 3.20 GHz,4.00 GB (3.45 GB usable),64-bit operating system, x64-based processor with Windows 10 on it...the ram is one stick ASint DDRIII4gb-1600....I want to speed this up a bit if possible can i add another stick to this , or change out this one with 2 bigger ones ????….. there is another slot just like where this stick currently sits and what is compatable with this ...if we need a pic of the board i can get it i have no side cover on it at the moment....thanks Chris

If you can identify the motherborad, you should be able to find it's memory specs on line. In general you should be able to add a matching stick with no problems. Before you get carried away, you need to know the max memory your boars supports. Boards have the id info imprinted on them. Good luck.

Here is the spec sheet on your motherboard.

You can go up to 16GB with (2) 8GB modules.

Best way to speed it up is to install a SSD drive instead of a old type spinning drive.
I like the Samsung units.
It will make a huge improvement if you don't have one.

It will be worth the effort.
