Im a little confused on the year application Of the non a/c dipsticks i have Any information help Such as what year has the holes near tip What year is 6 quart?? What years were 5 quart …. Long handle - short handle etc Thanks. Scott |

The small fonts 5 Qts looks like the 9793342 1968-on rod.
6 Qts were used on 1967 engines (and 1966 as a service replacement). 5 Qts on all others. |

My '67 GTO with AC has the 6 QTS. and long handle as yours. It's just longer.

I cannot recall if it was a 73 or 77 engine that I had it in, but I know I had one of those in an engine; I recall this because it actually broke the end off at the first hole below the add arrow... |
They didn't have (or use) SE oil until around 74 or so? (bottom one)

I´d say the bottom rod #9793342 is the current SR rod for 1968-on Pontiac V8´s

great info!!!!! thank you gentleman ... I think that one was from a late 73 455 that had a freeze crack I recycled
any ideas on long and short handles.... ?? |
