Quadrajet filter

I can only fit a short housing and am running the pleated paper filter. Will a marine screen flow more? I just installed a RobbMC pump and my 2nd gear stumble is gone so very happy with that but I just want to minimize another restriction if I can.

Yes, but if you have the long inlet nut that allows the long paper filter then I don’t think it will be worth it and risk having crap hold the needle open and flooding out the motor.

If you're limited to the small inlet nut, you could try the bronze mesh filter too.

The RobbMC pump got rid of my issue as well. real happy with it.

I have found that using any type filter in the Q-Jet causes a restriction and can cause fuel starvation. I never use the internal filter but install a quality low restrictive filter like the ones RobMC sells before the carb.

The Marine filter is a fine micro-screen mesh filter and prefered for high performance use. With a thin wire diameter spring they fit most short housings after 1967. They can also be cleaned instead of having to replace them......

I run a marine filter in one of my carbs from cliff, they wil not let anything through that would.. risk having crap hold the needle open and flooding out the motor. Should flow a lot better than the stock paper ones too.

I checked mine after a few years of use & didnt see a single piece of debris in it, I run a bigger robbmc filter between tank & pump that seems to be all thats needed... new tank & lines though.
