motocycle shipping/transport company for vacation to
Wife and i are planning on booking a trip to sturgis for 2025 few weeks after the big bike rally. we trying to determine if we will fly in and rent a bike or have my street glide transported out there from RI and then transported back from either the same location or if we just ride to another convenient drop off point. We would like to see mount rushmore and a few other of our countries westernish landmarks.
if we rent we feel we likley will be tied to a drop of point, where if we ship the bike(s) it maybe tweaked to different locations. Its also possible we may tow out but that is an extra 4-5 days travel vs vacation time. Any suggestions are appreciated |
Its been a while back , but remember a guy doing about the same thing and he found it cheapest / easiest to ship his bike by train.
I don't remember any protocols though. |
1-800 HAULBIKES.com .......This is what they do in tractor trailers! Check with them, I am sure they will be doing Sturgis.

I dont have any tattoo's and would still ride mine, LOL. Then again I have ridden all over the country.
To answer your question though, I have used 'Reliable Carriers' to move antique bikes across the county. They have a large semi rig. If you are going right after Sturgis they may have a presence there. I rented a Harley years ago to drive around Arizona, I would have been better off buying a new bike and selling it when I was finished the trip. Not Cheap! Do you have a trailer and truck? or have one you can borrow? If you are not on a time constraint that would be the best way to get everything there. |
Taxi Ride
Expecting to arrange hired transport
that is time sensitive for a show or a tour or a another reason is contingent on whatever you need hauled arriving and/or returning will most likely leave you frustrated and disappointed. Long story short …. Make plans to drive or trailer it yourself. Jim |
See if you can arrange with a nearby HD dealer at your destination to have it shipped there in advance.
I would not want to rent a bike unless that became the most realistic option. |
I do have a truck and trailer but am trying not to add to the travel it's a two week trip
At That point and my wife and I can manage the time Off other potential travelers do not Like to Be away that long My friend has a toy hauler Camper But that's only two of the three bikes however you have made Good points I have reached out for a quote and then will Consider options From there Thank you |
