Howdy

Glad to see this great forum is still around.
First got on here in 2004 and last visited in 2018.
I'm the 2nd owner of a 1978 Trans Am, which I have not touched in eons.
My situation has now changed, since I am able to move the car into a shop building where there will be room to work on it.
Aired up the tires this morning, rounded up various parts, will have the car moved soon.
I'm sure I will have questions to ask.

Haven't managed to load a pic yet, don't know why.

It's a little tricky if you haven't done it for a while....

Getting ready for the move

The double tap was the key, thanks!

Here's the original 400.
It had 117k on it when I got it, and I put an additional 10k on it when I used it as a daily driver in 2006.
I'll make some better pics soon.

Pretty sure it was this forum where a guy was building headers for Pontiacs.
Got this beautiful set from him, definitely wanting to run them.
Been a long time, don't recall his name.

Those look like tri-y headers. Maybe made by Ron Watt?

Gary S. 09-27-2024 03:05 PM

That name sounds familiar!!
He still around?

soupman 09-27-2024 03:56 PM

Not sure if he still is in business or not. . I got a set from him probably at least 15 years ago, great headers.

Joe's Garage 09-27-2024 04:49 PM

Pretty sure Ron Watts has crashed and burned again (for about the fifth time)

He hasn't been active on FB for over a year and any posts about him are met with VERY negative recent experiences.

We got about seven or eight sets of Tri-Ys from him along the way, but he still owes us one set at this moment.

We're writing it off to experience. Too bad - he made a good product when he wanted to or was able to.
