'67 questions - shroud and fan clutch
The ole goat has a cold case radiator in place of the original, and works fine as long as it doesn't sit too long.
In an effort to buy a little cool time, I ordered up the Ames shroud, which is a gorgeous piece maybe better than original. Naturally, I forgot to check to see if in fact the dimensions would be close enough to use the repro shroud. Anyone have experience with this? Also, is there a P/N for the good Hayden Fan Clutch? Thinking as long as all this is coming apart, I otter do that while everything is out. Letting the H20 pump sleep for a while - perhaps take that on in a re-seal project. |
Here is a pretty good thread about Hayden fan clutch's. Pay special attention to mgarbik's posts about modifying the clutch to kick in a bit sooner to keep the engine from getting too hot.

I have the repro shroud on my 67 GTO with Cold Case rad. (non AC core support) No problems with fit. I'll be using the repro shroud on my current 67 project with Cold Case and AC core support.

I'm using the shroud sold by Ames in my '66 GTO w/AC core support in conjunction with a Cold Case radiator and a 19.5" fan. Shroud fits and works well.
