Plea for hurricane Helene victims
 

In my 20 plus years of being a member here, I can't remember asking for help from our community. Tonight I ask, but not for myself. Three weeks have passed since Helene cut a deadly swath through the southern U.S.

Bodies are being discovered daily, and many survivors are needing shelter as the cold weather moves in. Power has still not been restored in much of the disaster zone, but power will not restore the homes or provide heat and food for those with no where to turn.

Many surviving families are needing tents, sleeping bags, clothing, LP cook stoves and basics to survive. Even though my family is in eastern N.C., my daughter and 13 year old grand daughter are currently in the mountains of N.C. as volunteers and witnesses to this event. My wife's family roots are in those mountains and thankfully they made it through this.

If you can offer just a dollar to help, please see the link below. These people are working to provide immediate needs for those affected, and are doing a tremendous job. But they need your help, and that's what I am requesting.
