Coil resistor wire location

So im going to install an hei distributor in my 1969 lemans and i need to remove the resistor on the run circuit. I know i could just use a relay but id rather just remove the resistor. I know on the 69 that its in the harness under the dash but does anyone know exactly where it is? Is it close to the bulkhead connector or closer to the ignition switch or somewhere in between? Id rather not rip apart the whole harness if possible looking for it so im hoping some one that has done this before can give me an idea on the location to save me some time. Thanks guys!

3 Attachment(s)
Between the ignition switch 'E' terminal and the bulkhead 'B-Y' Terminal.
The entire Black/Pink wire is the resistor.

So its the whole wire? Well crap. I was hoping it was going to have an in line resistor of some kind. Guess i will be going through the whole harness lol. Thanks for the info

Why destroy a perfectly fine harness? Use the relay and be done with it.
YouŽll be glad you did the day you want to install the original distributor (instead of the big ugly HEI).

Take Kenths advice. I just went through this. I put the relay in today.

Another option is to simply make a replacement wire for the resistor wire on the dash harness with factory style Packard 58 terminals and unplug the resistor wire from the ignition switch and bulkhead connectors and install the new wire. No damage to the factory dash harness and easily reversible if desired later.
