BOP Belt Drive
2 Attachment(s)
what am i missing here? i bought a rpm awhile back and guy offered this up for like 200 more. i forgot about it actualy until i was looking for something else.
what am i missing to run this? i dont guess this is running under a stock cover. this is all i got except a bag of hardware and some random air cleaner bases of some sort i meant belt drive...lol...not in my skillset to edit the title...apparenty |
I suggest you contact Wade. Or maybe he will see you post and chime in.
|
i been doing some googling...and im fixing to check the bag of bolts, near as i can tell im only missing the tensioner bushing, and plate.
and i think its safe to say this does not go under the cover |
You are correct....... it does not go under the cover.
|
your going to need a special oil pan also
|
Never thought the juice was worth the squeeze on those things. Get a Cloyes Z chain or Milodon gear drive and be done with it.
I do however have one of those sideways front mount distributor set up I might let go of at some point. The racer had the belt drive- crank trigger and front mount distributor and ditched it all for a HEI. Runs about the same. He tossed it in with a crank trigger I bought from him. But I am still running points with a cast iron distributor. For most of us there is not a whole lot of power to be found in a ignition system. Just has to be quality and work correctly IMO. |

honestly i dont know that ill use it, i doubt i would have bought it new. I really was only lookin for the rpm intake at the time. for the couple motors i have on the stand now i have a couple edelbrock accudrives. the rest i was just gonna get a good chain for. When i seen this i thought it might be cool on the blown 406 but.....im worried it might just complicate things for me |
I have a nice oil pan set up for a BOP front plate if you do use the belt drive set up.
Not to hijack, but willing to help someone out if a pan is needed for this application. |
It looks like you need the motorplate, tensioner with bolt and bearing, timing bracket, oil pan, and the belt itself. You can get a bracket for crank trigger and a front mount distributor kit.
|
i wonder if you can uses either motor plate full/motor only? i think i seen a needle type pointer for the cam timing but your talking about a timing bracket for the crank gear, which i didnt even think about....i do have a brand new belt tho, i may go ahead buy everything to complete it
