Safer lug nuts than stock

I notice my stock 70 GTO Rally wheel lug nuts have almost no flare at the base. They are the chrome open ended type with black insert. So when they seat into my 55 yr old Rally wheels it looks almost like they pass through the holes. What other stock looking nuts are available with the pronounced flare?

How much slop is there around the stud and the hole in the wheel? Old wheels can go bad from too much the steel flared area being worn away over the years.

If these will fit your wheels they surely wont pull through a lug nut opening. Stock nut OD is 3/4", these are 1".

They are made for oval track cars that are prone to wheel lug nuts pulling through a laterally loaded wheel
