I did buy one of them from Ames two years ago. They may still have them or are you looking for an original?

Yep, looking for an original. The only repro I've seen is the one with the additional port or the one with the brake port going straight back.

has anyone successfully rethreaded an original one?

I have a spare, but the threads are crap.

I've heard of people doing it with some success. The issue is that it's a tapered thread so it won't go in far if the taper isn't correct. The other thing is if you don't get lucky on where it seat you may have a fitting that's 180 degrees off from where you want it.
