John Kraman passes
Just found out John Kraman the Mecum on air commentator and Pontiac enthusiast passed away today. He was one of the few on air personalities that knew something about Pontiacs. RIP.
|
Sad to hear this… yes, he was a big Pontiac fan. I read about him seeing his first 63 GTO at just 8 years old and then actually buying one! He still had owned it at this time… RIP John, you’ll be missed here!

Nice man & very knowledgeable. I had the opportunity to speak with him in Harrisburg a couple of years back. He just got off the live broadcast, and instead of slipping out the back door, he chatted with us for about 15 minutes. Very gracious.
Heard he had health issues recently, but was shocked to hear he passed. RIP Professor. |
This is sad, my condolences to his family, And to the Pontiac community. Hopefully Auctions we watch with facts for Pontiacs will not get blurred into chevys.

Sorry to hear this news. John was really fantastic and I will deeply miss having him announce the Mecum Auctions. You could feel his love for Pontiac and I felt more attached to him after buying my Trans Am.
RIP JK, you will be missed. Condolences to his family. |
I saw that he actually died on Sunday, the 12th. He seemed to be a Pontiac guy and he's owned more than a couple. He'll be missed for sure.
|
You could tell he really liked to talk Pontiacs. The Professor. RIP

John spoke at the memorial for Jim Wangers that was held at the Peterson Museum and stayed around and chatted with everyone at the reception. Very cordial man and I always enjoyed his commentaries about the Pontiacs crossing the block at Mecum.

I always enjoyed listening to John and soaking up some of his car knowledge. I can still hear him saying “never trust a badge”. RIP John.

So sorry to hear this. I met JK at the Nationals in Valley Forge. we walked the show after his guest speaker event. Such a nice man, he really liked my 65 GTO. I never thought to ask for his Sig.
Prayers for his family, RIP John |
That sucks. I heard the guys on Mecum saying he was at home dealing with some health issues. Made it seem like it was a pretty mild thing.
I guess you never know when your time is gonna come. |
