I have several of these wrap your own book covers.

fyrffytr1 02-02-2025 12:18 AM

Did you make them yourself?

Jeff Hamlin 02-02-2025 09:04 AM

IIRC The book covers came in the '69 Wide-Track Poster set.

Never had those. I had the 1965 pictures used them as drawer liners in college just to see the cars. Yes I know,18. Then the 66s then 67s. Then 69s and 70s. Pictures are all gone now.

Guy I know gave me those probably 30 years ago. He sent away for them when he was a kid. Came right from Pontiac rolled up in a tube..

RFCOLEMAN 02-03-2025 03:18 PM

I have a full set in the mailing tube. Bought them from a guy in work more than 10 years ago. I forget how many are in it. 69 promo item.

unruhjonny 02-03-2025 05:03 PM

would those maybe be early 1970 promo items?

The '69 Firebird was being sold to about the halfway point into the 1970 model year, and unless I am mistaken, those are 1970 GTO images.

Bill, Dad gave me them and I used them in 1969-1971 or so. I am sure they got destroyed being carried back and forth to school everyday. I think he still has the photos though.

Pretty sure Someone gave me one of those for my books in school because I was into Pontiacs. I feel like it’s still on a book at my parents house. been there 40 years if it is that

Have to look next time I stop over

Here are my 1969 PMD Breakaway book covers included with the PMD posters, decals and spec sheet for 50 cents from Pontiac.

Vince Welling, the son of the owner of the now defuncted Al Welling Pontiac in Alvin, Texas.........also known as the home of Nolan Ryan, had a stack of them back in the mid-70s. As I recall, he was into Pontiacs for obvious reasons and had a 69 or 70 grand prix with a supercharger on it.

I thought someone at the Ames Pontiac Nationals had book covers for sale within the last few years.

TAKerry 02-05-2025 08:44 AM

Those are really cool!
I remember taking paper grocery bags and making bookcovers so we could decorate to our own liking. I wonder how many kids even know what book covers are today, let alone make one!!
