Neighbor Hater or Screaming Wife mufflers.
I'm looking for some loud radical sounding mufflers for our 79 TransAm. Stepping up to 3in from 2, 1/2 in with H pipe into Flowmaster Delta 40,s and then dumps. I've got Headmen 1, 3/4 in primaries into 3 in collectors. I also use a 12 inch collector extension 3in off the collector 2 ,1/2 in exit.
I plan on useing 3inch pipe from the collectors to 3inch H pipe to 3inch mufflers and dumps before the rear end. Is there a performance issue having 3 inch exhaust pipe coming off the header collector straight to the mufflers. I'll be replacing the old 1, 3/4 by 3 inch headers with 1, 7/8 inch hedders with 3, 1/2 inch collectors later. Engine is a Jim Moran build. 1974, 0.60 400 cu /467 cu stroker. Ohio 4.25 forged crank, Eagle forged rods, with Icon forged pistons. Kauffman 87 cc D-ports, 310 cfm heads. Holley Street Dominator intake, with a spacer and 750 Holley carb. As anyone here tried either mufflers mentioned in the title above? Any idea how they are flow wise. I've heard a few sound clips. They are LOUD. I'm over 60 yrs old and half deaf anyways, so loud isn't a problem for me. Any info on exhaust pipe sizing or if you're using Neighbor Hater or the slightly quieter Screaming Wife mufflers is appreciated.
