Taillight panel rib color
So I am taking a shot at painting my rear panels on the car. I like the illusion of one taillight across the whole rear. With that said the marimba red paint does not match my taillights- they are darker more maroon. I am not planning to change the tail light lens and don’t care about correct originality.
So my question to the group-how do I either (1) adjust my marimba paint with another coat on top or below to better match, or (2) forget the marimba red I have altogether and look for a closer color elsewhere in a rattle can. If this, any ideas where/how? Thanks for any thoughts. I am taped off and ready to go. |

Are you sure you have the correct shade or Marimba Red?

Believe so. Can from Ames. It’s just my taillights are original and am sure 61 years darkened them up a bit

Yours look great in your signature pic

Well it’s Occam’s razor on the color question. Cleaning taillight lenses with acetone brought the right color back. So my marimba red looks good. Pics forth coming but a question first
