69 "button" style shifter in a 68?
I like the look of the 69 faux walnut shift knob with the firebird button. I currently have the stock T-Handle style shifter. Will the 69 knob work for me as a simple bolt on?

I should add I have a 68 with the th350

You talking manual trans?
As long as the threads are the same it should bolt right on. Even if they are not you can redrill/retap or helicoil to make them all the same. https://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/...t=knob&page=12 K |

This is what I have currently: https://www.firebirdcentral.com/1968.../tra-2056k.htm I am wondering if its a simple bolt on to convert it to this: https://www.firebirdcentral.com/1969.../tra-2056u.htm |
No it will not work the handle is different you need a shifter from a gto (a body) to work I did it to my car. I actually took a 69 shifter for the ratchet and added the neutral safety switch part from an older shifter to work in the 68 bird but one from a 68 will bolt right in with just the bracket on rear of shifter changed.

The stick needs this groove for the clip so the ball doesn’t fall to the bottom of the stick. I think it’s just a little longer also. I checked the stick in neutral for length.
