Wheel well height
 

Can someone tell me what the measurement is from the ground to the wheel opening lip with the chrome trim going straight up though the wheel center? I know stock tire height is 26.2"s but my tire height is 27.1 inch.
I am still using the original coil springs and I think they may have sagged a little as I have a tire rub at times right at the top of the wheel opening. I remove the fender to fender liner top bolt and that help for a little while , but now the rub is back.
It is more pronounced on the passenger side and gets worse when there is someone sitting on that side. On rare occasions I get a little scrub on the drivers side.

Time for new springs?

Sorry for not replying sooner. Life got in the way and I haven't measured the height yet. I am in no big hurry now because temps are reaching the mid 90s so I won't be taking the car out anytime in the near future.

I got around to measuring the height a couple days ago and then this site went down. Anyway, with a full tank and tires inflated the passenger side was 8.75 inches and the drivers side was 8.5.I am running aftermarket wheels and tires but they are the same diameter as the stock combo. Looks like new springs may be needed. What brand do you recommend?

These are the heights of my car. The front springs were from Eaton Detroit Spring MC3474 and the rear were Moog 5409.

I can't find the Moog 5409s anywhere on line or locally.

Try to find an equivalent to the Moog specs. Eaton Detroit Spring will have it as an alternative and you can bring the rear higher by request.

I have a new set of +1" Eaton Detroit springs listed in the for sale section if you're interested.

I may be interested in them later on, if they are still available, but right now I think I need to focus on the fronts. They are the ones giving me the most trouble.

Interesting that the station wagons without heavy duty springs are higher at the rocker than the ones with.

I thought I remembered reading that there was a spring for cars with A/C?

Yes, the factory had a different set of front springs to carry the additional AC weight. In '67, the code was LN. It had a spring rate of 305 lbs./in.
