Seattle Area Engine Machining and Builders?
The engine I have needs a complete rebuild. Hasn't run for years since before I bought the car with it. Cylinder boring, main honing, all that good stuff. As much as I'd like to do all the wrench turning I think the short block would be best assembled by a professional. I can and have done head gaskets and other maintenance on other engines but bearing clearances are outside my skill set. I would prefer to support local Mom and Pop machine shops but I'm not sure they are a good choice for me. I have read Rocky Rotella's book on engine rebuilding and I'm hesitant to give a shop an engine they're not familiar with, so I'm willing to drive a few hours to work with a good place. The nearest big place is Action Machine, but is there different place that anyone would recommend?
