Coolant Additive- Purple Ice
 

Has anyone used the Purple Ice coolant additive product? It is supposed to help reduce coolant temps 10-12 degrees. It has decent reviews, but !'m not familiar with it.
I would be adding to a 50/50 coolant mixture.
As you can guess, I'm having a bit of a cooling temp issue, and here in Florida the 85-90 degree days don't make it any easier, especially with a/c running.
Currently has a 180 degree T-stat

PS: Read about "Water Wetter", a similar product, but comments were that it could cause radiator sludge, something I do not want!;)

Have used water wetter in the past and did not experience any sludge and it improved the cooling around 7-8 degrees.

I saw the comment in reviews, and you know how they can be.
But was curious about actual usage.

Same here. Worked well in multiple vehicles for me.

I use Rislone super coolant since it's the only coolant additive that actually matches the color of the conventional green coolant, so it doesn't discolor it - finicky, but I'm OCD.

All of those additives work by the same principle in that they make the coolant more "soapy" and hydrophilic, so that it more readily sticks to the metal surfaces and transfer the heat more effectively.
