How to get the trim to stay put?

How can I get this trim piece to stay in place?

This is the trim that goes around the grill.
One person said to put a small pieces of Duct tape on each tap and shove them in. I feel like it might get hot and release then be a sticky mess.

Anybody have to deal with this?

Right now it's shape is more than the tabs can hold.
Good news is that it's surprisingly easy to bend. If you
(or someone else) can massage it to the point where
it's not constantly under tension, those tabs shouldn't
bother you ever again.
