Caliber Communications Saying Reduce My Direct TV Bill

Man just showed up selling reduced rate tv service with Dish, with more channels. My Direct tv has had interference problems. Is this normal weather or is someone with device making this happen? He said new bill will be $97.00 per month 'forever'. I'll save about $30.00 per month. I'm curious if this is a scam. Any positive experiences out there?

Ask for references

As for references from established accounts
in your area who have been active customers
that you can call and talk to about service.

I'd be super skeptical...I didn't even know Dish was still a thing.

But funny you mention this. My project today was canceling Direct TV and removing all our Direct TV boxes and our two dishes. Streaming is a lot less expensive for us and seems to work just as well.

I switched from Direct TV two years ago. Got Dish and never had a problem and got channels Direct did not have, Much cheaper also,

I've been calling attorney general and ckd BBB locally nothing yet. Except co. promised credit cards for switching and some didnt get what was promised.i didnt get promise, however I was told after paying first month next 3 are free. You have a 24 commitment.

I canceled the appointment to switch. I thought after rep left this is like selling asphalt driveway to unsuspecting customer. Impulse, least expensive but there was one thing he didnt tell me minimum 24 mos subscription. If you cancel after a month, penalty of $40.00 per month not used.one other funny thing I havent had any interference since winter snow. Now I've been getting weird interference but no codes on tv. I was wondering if someone was using some kind of interference device to sell this new tv service.

If you have an interference issue then call your provider, they will come sort it out.

It's pretty serious crime to purposefully cause any kind of signal interference, also complicated, and would require equipment in place for days or weeks and would have a limited range. Seriously doubt anyone would do that to sell some TV subscriptions.

He,they had info of exactly what I was paying. It was on a app he had of our area mapped out. Seemed very detailed. I called his company with number he provided and asked questions. I tried BBB they had nothing. Tried state attorney general for complaints, they sent me to another state agency that did not have any info on co. ,not bad or not good sooo. I called DirectTV they gave me,a new cheaper price, imagine that, of $112.00 / month. I kept all my stored movies, about 50 or 60. Direct did say if there was a problem with like snow,or rain it would show a code. These interferences showed nothing no codes. So I became skeptical, wondering. You are probably right Dataway. I keep saying do I really need tv at a $100.00 a month?

We've gone to streaming for everything. I pay about $80/month for high speed fiber internet, then the wife pays for any extra subscriptions she wants like NetFlix etc.

There are some down sides to streaming, you don't get a channel package like with a service like Direct TV. After what the wife pays for her "extras" we are still up around $120 a month so no great price advantage.

At my age I just want something that I understand how to make work :) So, maybe stick with what you have now if you know where to find what you want.

You really need to do some research. One of my friends used to sell Dish, and in his experience he told me that there are a lot of factors to consider. A lot of technicians do the bare minimum when installing. If Dish offers the channels you want go for it. But upon installation let them know you are having service issues. If you prefer sticking with Direct TV, call them and explain the issues, and see if a technician can come to your house. If you mention you are considering getting Dish, they will be glad to send someone out to try and correct the issue.

In my personal experience, I switched from Direct TV to Dish and had a much worse experience. Not to mention they drilled a large (5") hole and never filled it. This was long before I even met my friend now though.

Thanks for the responses.i want to save money. Guy seemed nice, I was thinking whole time he was sent there to pressure sell. Without any 'written' info to show customer. That's why I questioned him a little. Then called state,Calibur communications, and Direct TV.Then you guys figuring some know what is going on.You do.Thanks guys.New rate is $112.00 / month at Direct tv.i
thought about streaming but I
havent looked into. Sooo status quo.
