Delrin bushing grease question
 

Couldn’t find any posts in this and the general internet seems to have some mixed guidance on this.

I’m about to add lower control arms with delrin bushings and wanted to know if there’s any special guidance on greasing them.

I even see some mentions of not needing grease at all.

From what Ive read, delrin bushings dont require grease, they are self lubricating, but using a little wont hurt them, most people say a PTFE or silicone type grease used for poly bushings is ok.

For best advice I would ask the company you got them from or give PTFB or hotchkis a call to ask what they suggest.

Adding some grease won't hurt. Many of the cheaper arms with delrin bushings don't come with serviceable bushings, so you'd grease them initially if interested in doing so, then that's it.

My SPC arms with delrin bushings have grease zircs and I service them every couple years.

Thanks guys. Dave from PTFB got back to me and said they grease the delrin bushings and provide a zirc fitting to grease them later too. He said high loads and moving parts need lubrication - and not to trust the self lubricating claims.

Basically any grease type will work. Delrin is very chemical resistant. Also Delrin is NOT "self lubricate
