64' Catalina transmission mount

I'm looking for a source for a 64' Catalina automatic transmission mount. Ames lists them but they're out and don't have an ETA on the new ones.

I usually have them but my source can't get them. Try Fatsco. 800-524-0485

Well, I've tried Ames, Kanter, and Fatsco, and they all have them on back order. If anyone has one, or any other sources, please let me know.

stevep 08-28-2025 06:50 PM

I talked to the supplier and Ames and Fatsco do not want to buy enough of them for him to make a run.

Gary H 08-28-2025 06:53 PM

well, that stinks! When I spoke with Kanter he said he had 6 on backorder. I wonder what his minimum order has to be?

stevep 08-30-2025 06:58 AM

I think that the guy needs to have orders that total 100 for him to make it work. I would probably buy 5 for myself.
Do you have your original mount? The mount in my 64 Safari was bad and I drilled 2 holes in it and bolted it together. It's been like that for 5 years with no issues. I saw it on someone else's car.
This is probably the worst designed transmission mount ever made.

I did a little research on your mount. Could you verify the mount looks like a Balkamp 6202510 ? I have access to the National Warehouse inventory for NAPA and sure enough there are none in the system. But it is an active part number. So if the pic looks correct on-line, let us know. I may be able to help force a short run of the mounts. Generally, the number of 100 required to make a run is kind of flexible. They possibly could be convinced to make a run if NAPA national would commit to taking 50 for example.

That is not even close, unfortunately.

Lots of years ago (when you couldn't buy a new front engine mount for a 55_59 Pontiac) I had Steele Rubber redo my old mount. If the only thing wrong with your granny mount you might give them a call.

Post a picture of the mount. I may have a good one.

A piece of one shows up on ebay. Looks like it needs a few pieces but I don't know how much you have.
Tried to copy a picture and link but something is not working today . TAZ Auto parts lists it.

I have no knowledge of what the proper mount looks like, but I found this on eBay claiming to be a 64 Pontiac Catalina tranny mount.

That's not the right one. The correct one has 2 studs and has an offset between the top and bottom.

I just did the same thing on my broken one. I drilled through the two halfs and bolted them together.

It works!
