Body sealant
 

On my 1972 LeMans GT between the drip rail trim and the roof there is a narrow channel that seems to be filled with sealant of some kind that's painted over.

Mine is all old and cracked.

I'm considering scraping it out and putting in new sealant BUT I'm not sure what sealant to use.

Anyone have any suggestions? Has anyone removed and replaced the sealant on their vehicle?

Thanks for the reply. Only 3M could / would come up with a sealant specifically for drip rails on older cars. Who would have thought!!!

It is probably the same as their Brushable seam sealer except in a tube. Very good product.

Dont get me wrong ,I love 3M products...
But arent there newer 2 part sealers that are better?

I used 3M drip check sealer on my 55 Chevy Sedan Delivery roof rails. It is self leveling and works well, but I'm not sure about anything vertical. It may run.

SEM make a 2 part cartridge seam sealer...with a spiral mixing tube..excellent product.
