1964 Grand Prix
Hello all, I just picked up a sweet car this week a 1964 Grand Prix and I have a couple questions..first is a stratocheif or Strato model same trunk work or would a bonneville be the same. Thanks. Appreciate any assistance

Hi...
Congrats on the purchase! Bonneville and Star Chief decklid is too long. Catalina is the right length, but check the contour, as it may be different. IIRC my '63 GP decklid does not have as pronounced a center ridge as the other models. Size-wise, however, Catalina is the right length. HTH |
Thanks , it is sure hard to find a correct trunk in Canada , we have the Parisienne model here does that equate to a Ventura or Bonnyville.

Bonneville and Parisienne are the same body panels, yes.

Sometimes you have to have them side by side to notice the differences. We found this out when a Friend picked up picked up some NOS 65 "Catalina" Convertible rear 1/4's for a very good price in Michigan, and later found out after cutting one his 1/4's off his car that they were slightly shorter than the ones on his car, and the body lines were slightly different. He ended up using them as patch panels. Made them work and they looked good. but if you parked his car nest to another 65 Catalina you could see the body lines were just a little different. |
Thanks for that, Jeff. I was not aware of that, though it surely does make sense.
