TRYING TO HELP A BROTHER

does anyone know of a 70-72 trans am that is a decent car not a rust bucket and is pretty complete other than it doesnt matter if it has an engine or not. one of my best friends had a very nice blue 4 speed with ac 71 trans am it was his pride and joy and a little over 30 years ago he lost it in a divorce. (never understand why guys have to give up their cars because the wife doesnt give two ****s about it most of the time). well after all this time and he got remarried and raised 3 kids that are all grown his wife is telling him she is tired of hearing about how much he misses his trans am and to find one and buy it. he cant afford a restored car but would like to find something in the 20k + or - range. any leads for him appreciated.

based on the budget, has your friend considered a 70-72 base/Esprit built as a Trans Am?

There are many out there, and they can be bought for a fraction of the cost of a legitimate 22887XXXXXXXX car.

Not exactly on topic, but I recently received a Hemmings(?) email about a 1973 Formula 455 which was "restored" as Trans Am...
