Really neat Original W/S for a 382.
I wonder if this car still exists?
It would be great to reunite car with this W/S.

Two Tone paint.
3x2’s, 4spd. Posi, metallic brakes and the performance notched fan.

I love Two Tones.

Same dealership that sold my Black 3x2 , and the Mayfair 3x2 currently on eBay .
779 tranny and big fan means it was a 3.90 axle car with M20 wide ratio like my car.
778 was M21 ... 77W standard M20

He posted 2 old pictures of the original car.
It looks to have had Red Interior.
The 2tone is gone but the molding is still there.

In 2008 I looked at a Red 65 body-only project in Pleasant Garden NC that was for auction on eBay.
At first I thought it might be that car , but it had Black interior.
I don't remember it having the roof molding or not.
They didn't have PHS , but it still had the lower radiator mount insulators and the upper insulator bracket and they were 4core size.
Felt pretty certain it was a 3x2 car.
It went past my threshold pretty quick so I didn't bother doing Express PHS.
But for the price it sold for , at least 2 people probably did get PHS on it.

VIN 237375P281992 in case anyone ever googles it , this might show up.

I already ran Google and no hits on it.

Yup, saw that aluminum trim for a two color car. He must have changed the upper body color.
Looks like a custom sports wheel and outside mirror were added also.

I had some correspondence with the seller of this ‘65 window sticker.
She said she called her 80 year old Dad to ask about the Two Tone paint on the car when he bought it New.
He told her it had a White painted upper body with a chrome trim separating it from the Red lower body color.
He didn’t like that so the Dealer painted the top Red for him before he took it home.
Those were the days.

I tried to recreate how it would have looked with a White painted upper body.
Kinda cool with the White pinstripes.

Neat info and cool that the original owner is still alive .

Not a 65 but 64, my father-in-law bought a 64 GTO from his brother, and it was white with a red painted roof. After owning it for 50 years his nephew bought it back and had it restored and gave it back to his Dad as a gift.

Rob,

That Two Tone ‘64 looks really cool in those upper / lower colors.

His son deserves a Son of the Century award .
That was absolutely righteous.

Huh, there’s no VIN stamped on a ‘65 engine.

I should have mentioned this earlier.
The seller (daughter) of the ‘65 window sticker messaged me and said her Dad’s ‘65 GTO was sold and then wrecked decades ago, so it probably doesn’t exist.

That could reunite with a lot of cars as "original" depending on the date code .
Surprised nobody ever relieved you of it yet.
They were especially good movers in later 80s - early 90s before PHS.
Everybody was building 65 WS cars , many were LeMans conversions.

Could the engine be matched to the original car with the EUN? Is the EUN only on the protect-o-plate or is it also on the PHS info?

Baron Von Zeppelin 10-06-2025 12:26 AM

Only the PoP will have it on a 65 or 66.
Majority of 67 , and most 68 will have EUN on the BHC
64 from Fremont have the pre-dealer version of PoP imprinted on PHS document with EUN

Off the top of my head I'm not sure which year stopped putting EUN on PoP.
Was either 69 or 70 it stopped completely.

Baron Von Zeppelin 10-06-2025 12:38 AM

We can determine pretty tight ranges for EUN .
It pretty much parallels with casting date code on the early cars, and the later D-Port cars.
So if the date code is in good range , the EUN will be also.

Most of the exotic low production engines are a different ball game with different rules.
