Ideas for weight reduction on 65 GTO

I'd like to take off 50-100lbs from our 65 GTO. I'm looking into light weight upper and lower a-arms. Any other ideas?

Wheels and any other items (calipers, rotors, etc.) that are unsprung weight are most beneficial and provide more bang for yer buck.

Pretty sure my aftermarket 17x8” wheels are about 22lbs each.

Another vote for aluminum block plus a fiberglass hood.

having taken the hood off and on on my 65 it is heavy! Glass hood.
Bumpers are heavy, not as heavy as my 64 impala bumpers though! As well as pot metal front grills. I think the repop grills are plastic. Glass bumpers and with "wraps" now can be as shiny as the real thing.
I know my "regular" Global west tubular A arms aren't any lighter than the factory ones.
Wheels can make a big difference as well as tires.

Replace the pot metal front grills with the plastic ones

And get some light aluminum wheels

Antigravity lithium battery will get you 40-60 lbs savings depending on your current set-up
