Throttle cable location on firewall

As the title says, I need the location where the throttle cable goes thru the firewall. My previous setup had the early 6 cylinder setup that used a solid linkage. So I need to acquire the V-8 throttle components and install. Anywho, thanks in advance for help. PS, pictures would be great. Also, anyone with some descent quality used parts, I would be interested.

My car was originally a six cylinder automatic that had a throttle cable. I wasn’t aware of the solid linkage on early six cylinder cars.

You can see the cable just below the coil in this picture.

Yeah, apparently some of the early ones came with a throttle pedal bracket with an arm for a solid linkage rod and an arm for a spring return. I’m attaching a photo of the unit. I may try to modify the original for my dual quad setup. In the attached photo you can see the arm with the rubber grommet. This is where the carburetor linkage rod attached. The other arm, with the 3 holes is where the pedal return spring attached.

Turns out there are 4 dimples at the proper location. A center one for the throttle cable and 3 more for the cable bracket screws. So, now I know exactly where it goes.

Well that makes sense.

It would make little sense to tool up for a separate 6-cylinder firewall stamping.
