Budget build rocker arms
I’m working on a budget built 455 and need new rocker arms since I somehow misplaced the original set. Trying to avoid PRW and not spend $435 for a new set of Harland Sharp’s what are my options? It’s a street motor with an 041 cam so I can do a set of 1.5 or 1.6’s, just need to clearance the heads so there’s no rubbing with the tool from Spotts if necessary.

Find used stockers for this type of build.

you could go the route of roller tip rockers, or shop around marketplace for a deal.

Comp Cams roller tip rockers are a good compromise. I ‘ve used them in two engines with no problems.
|
I could provide a good used stock set for shipping but would have to verify how many i have before commitment..

I have CC magnum roller tip rockers NIB 1.65 ratio if interested.

Black Friday sales are coming up soon.
Buy nice new HS rockers in your preferred ratio. It only hurts for a little while. It’s either that or take a chance on someone’s old half-worn out used roller rockers. A solid valvetrain makes for a reliable engine, you won’t regret it. |

I snagged a 041and Hyd lifters and HS RRockers by chance talking to friends. Got another 041 and hyd lifters slightly used. Both under 150.00

I and a few other friends are using PRW Pro Series rockers, and they are doing great. My buddy who built my Pontiac, another Pontiac, 2 Fords, and a BB Chevy are all happy with them.

If you decide to go with stock rockers let me know I have a couple sets of 1.5 I would part with a set.
