Garage fire......40 yrs of retrieved parts & stuff to dispose of
Gents, this may well be an exercise in 'wheel-spin' as just about all this stuff was in the fire or really close to it. I have several '62-3-4 bumpers that look salvageable, there are some '63 hoods, trunk lids that would be questionable. There is a burned, basically complete (no engine or interior rust-free '63 car, bottom sand blasted and painted, 3:64 posi rear), and for this car is a 455 short block, late Muncie, bellhousing, clutch pedal stuff, some usable cyl heads, none of the trans or engine stuff was in the fire. There are several TH 400s, some in the fire, others not, a 59-60 style 4 speed hydramatic, some 35 spline axles, old style posi housings, many burned distributors, timing covers, pulleys, bumper jacks, flywheels, pressure plates..........just about every item of this nature you can imagine. Most for '61-64. Might be a bunch of fodder for a Norwalk type swap meet. I also have (undamaged) the local Pontiac dealer key code book and the cutter for making keys from those codes. Not sure when they quit using it, some of the blanks are B-10 and 11. Also have a pr. of 63 Bonneville coupe doors in a basement.
Much of this is now just plain junk, (all the interior stuff) however, everytime I junk something, somebody pipes up with a remark to the effect, 'I really needed that!!!!'......so......if you want to come look....gimme a call. At this stage of life, I am 86, my enthusiasm is rapidly waning...........
Probably more to be said, but I am not coming up with it......
