Steering box thoughts.

I have the suspension all removed from my 73 Trans Am and purchased the PTFB LE control arm kit. Still waiting on those, so I am considering replacing the steering box. Is there much difference between the upgrades and a rebuilt OER box. I remember my 75 drove pretty nice but I am seeking advice. Street car only. Thanks in advance.

upgrade the ratio. I run a 12:1 quick ratio box with a longer pitman arm to make it a little quicker. Works fine in my 73 TA.

A Saginaw 600 style box will do wonders here. I had one in my 79, it was FAR superior to the original.

So are you saying have mine rebuilt?

Would the pitman arm be the 70-81 Camaro one that’s straight? That’s the one that came in the Ridetech steering kit.

Yes but also need to use the camaro center link. This will not allow using a mechanical fuel pump.

I have a Lares 10:1 box and I love it.
