65 tail lights
Hi guys,
For my 65 Tempest, i want to change the tail lights a bit. I understand you can't put the GTO / LeMans grilles over the Tempest taillights but If I were to get the GTO / LeMans tail light lenses, would that do it? Thanks, Mark |
to best of my knowledge the quarter extensions are all the same. I thought the lenses would be same as well, isn't there a chrome bezel around the lens on a tempest? I must have a dozen quarter extensions still as assemblies of both, can look at them and see what fits together...

Yeah what you're wanting to do will work. Extensions are the same, lenses are different. I've used the Parts Places lenses, they're really nice. PG Classic has perfect new metal bezels. You can usually score a good sale around the holidays. https://pgclassic.com/products/gto65...d48747c6d56d2c

Thanks guys, much appreciated. I wonder if any of these guys are working on the tail panel that connects the tail light lenses on the GTO & LeMans.

If you're talking about the chrome trim piece I don't think so. Ames has been teasing that piece for about 10 years but nothing has ever shown up in the catalog. I beilieve The Parts Place had a run of them but I haven't seen one. I've had good luck getting mine rechromed, and refinished it myself. That's really about the only way to get a nice one these days.

Has anybody used any of the cheaper repop bezels? I've seen some of them for $250ish, which I could do without becoming physically ill. $500 on the other hand? At that price, I'll just live with having a bar missing.

I've used the ABS plastic Ames Tail light bezels for years now since I bought them (can't remember how long ago I bought them has to be over 10 yrs??). They still look great and I see no deterioration in the chrome or shape..
