Lifters Question

I just put a set of Comp Cams Pontiac Hydraulic Race Flat tappet Lifters Part # 863-16 in my 67 400.It has stock non adjustable rockers and I just saw that the lifters I put in says it requires adjustable rockers. Am I OK to leave them in with the stock 20 lbs/Ft rocker nut settings? The engine is running quiet with regards to the valve train.I don't want to cause any problems down the road if I need to change them out.Any input from knowledgeable Pontiac guys is much appreciated.
Thanks,

John

No,you need to set your top end for adjustable valve train. You dont want to loose the cam or lifters.Instructions should have told you how to set them.Tom

Thanks Tom, I'm going to change out the studs to 7/16 studs, change to Chevy style lock nuts, and new pivot balls to make the valve train adjustable. only had about 20 minutes run time since replacing the lifters. Cam was not changed out. Hoping no serious damage was done. Engine did run and sound fine.
