Electric cutouts Has anyone tried theses?

I am thinking they will be my Christmas present to myself!

There is a street rod here at my house that has a set of cutouts on it, they guy loves them for when he takes the car to the track. Through the switch and instant straight pipes. He loves showing them off at car shows also. I am not sure what the brand he used.

I have used dmh, quick time, and jegs version as a cheaper alternative. Biggest differences I've found are the motors used, the construction of the door and how well it seals, and the switch used.

Some switches are bigger and bulkier.

My favorite to date is the dmh. I've had some of Dave's stuff in use for 22 years and still working great. Excellent seal and the motors are still going. Rocker switch is nice and compact, easy to mount and/or hide. Drawback is

QuickTime is a close second. Good seal, have had them working on a couple other cars for 10-12 years. Switch is a bulky toggle that's kind of difficult to hide.

Jegs have doors that don't seal as well but eventually sealed after some carbon build up. Somewhat of a cheaper design hence the lower cost. Nice rocker switch, small and easy to conceal.

Nope, the dmh and the quick time cutouts I have, have never leaked. They seal up nice and quiet.

I have Quicktime on two cars and they are still going strong after many years. A friend went with a set of discount cutouts and ended up driving home from a show with one open after the motor died the first weekend. Then he went and spent more money for a good pair.

I almost purchased a pair of Digipower cutouts from Summit. They can be controlled from your phone or the key fob and they sort of quickly click open and closed with no waiting for the motor to slowly spin things shut. They also have 360° of orientation which would really help tucking things up. At the time when I first looked they were new without any reviews, but they're still around and comments are mostly positive except for a complaint about rattling after they got older. Never tried or seen those either. I assume the motor can be rotated because I tuck mine up close to the floor so that motor in that orientation would never fit.

I'm getting another pair shortly for another project and will most likely get another set of quicktime

I know that a few folks on the forums had recommended the Doug’s cut outs in the past but I haven’t heard much about them since then.

I just ordered another set of quick time cutouts. Summit said only 6 left in stock. Im guessing that means when they are gone they'll be on back order till another shipment comes in.
