I'm leaving the Pontiac world
 

I sold my 63 Bonneville wagon last spring and have been looking for my next project.

I have found and am in the process of purchasing a 1960 Ford Starliner. I have been a fan of this body style since a kid and am glad to have found a decent example!

I would like to thank all the members who helped with my wagon project, it was a lot of fun!

Can always do both. I don’t just do Pontiacs I have MGA s mopars, teslas fords all kinds of stuff and through the years I’ve had a lot of Italian cars as well I’ve been into fast boats , airplanes just about everything. But I’ve alway kept 1 foot in the Pontiac world. Of course I’ve always had a Pontiac or 3 too so.

But even if I didn’t I’d porbably still visit the forums.

Good luck with the ford. It’s all cars it’s all the same hobby nothing wrong with being into differnt things.

Really like the roof line and interior of the 60 Starliner. Is the one your buying a Y block or FE powered? Good luck with it. Take care.

292 Y-block, it has the original interior in good shape. Yellow with white top.

The roof line and the flat fins are what appeals to me.

I love my Pontiacs, especially my early Trans Ams.

But the car I regret selling the most was my 1964 Buick Riviera with a dual quad engine. I bought it in 1976 and drove it until about 1979. Gasoline was expensive back then, and I finally had to drop insurance because I couldn't afford to drive it and go to college. I put it in storage at my parent's house, and finally sold it around 1990 or so. I've still got the dual quad setup, I swapped it out for a single four barrel trying to save a little on gas before dropping insurance.

Leaving?...i wonder what Jamesq will use for an engine?

My parents owned two Starliners. A black 60 with the 352 and a red 61 with a 390. I remember as an 8 year old, sitting in the front seat of the 60 and using the fender ornaments as gunsights. The 61 was their favorite which I personally prefer too. Both are beautiful cars.

The 60 starliner is a sharp car for sure but the 61 is one of the most
beautiful cars I've ever seen. Enjoy your 60 starliner great looking car.

I bet a Pontiac engine would fit easily under the hood :thumbup:!

I've been accused of being a "Ford man"- after having many of them, from Falcons up through a one ton cube van. Along with many other makes- a Hudson with a wet clutch, a Dodge with a GyroMatic and Red Ram 241 hemi, a Buick with a cone clutch, etc., etc.
The '61 Starliner is my choice for style.

Cool car! At a local swap meet a couple of months ago, the most interesting car for sale was a red '60 Sunliner convertible. I thought it was very reasonably priced at $13,500. Imagine the asking price if it was a '60 Impala conv...

I saw that 60 Sunliner for sale when I was looking. He was down to 10500 last time I saw an ad. I assumed there were rust issues....
I bought my Starliner out of New Boston Tx, not too far from you.
