Such a cool car. Unfortunately it was probably restored back to stock.

The HO's were Automatic , the SD's were 4spd .
Incredible knowledge base back then. Bet she was a cool chick though . Had a 69 Z28 before the TA. Have seen the picture of her and another girl posing with the car street-side 100's of times. Never knew she was the owner , or that it was a movie car. |
me either

Cool Lady!
:) It would be easier if she had the VIN, might be around but someone wouldn't know the history of it. |

Seen that picture so many times the past 20 years. Always thought it was just girls posing with a guy's car. Quote:
Someone on the inside could probably do a deep dive if any of the movie shots or her pictures give a good enough view. And get the VIN |
I just watched episode 4 of California Fever. The Firebird double they were using is a '70 .

I think 1979 was probably the first year I subscribed to Car Craft (too many custom vans in Hot Rod...). I remember that image on Van Nuys Blvd vividly. Such a cool and unique car/paint scheme. And now we know its owner was pretty unique, too.
I predict it was purchased by someone who knew of its media significance, and has hidden it away for all these years. It will eventually emerge covered in dust, on a YouTube special, from some mid-south barn. :) |
I remember that car also. She said she wanted to put a "taller" gear in it....
