Door molding top trim - different lengths for 1970 to 1981 cars ?!?
 

Seeking info on the top of the door molding on 1970-1981 firebirds as I was totally unaware that there are actually 2 different lengths GM made for 1970 to 1981 firebirds.

The shorter one I can confirm being original on 1970-1973 cars (and maybe others) but was the longer length a later 70s f-body thing -- or maybe a camaro thing?

I bought an xlnt used "1970-1981" original set from a member for replacing a passenger side molding that was dinged and didn't know until installing that the length was longer.

Anyone else notice this. I don't see them ever listed being different length whether being sold used or new repops -- just always 1970 to 1981.

What can anyone chime in on with respect to this fact there are two different lengths polished moldings? Sure both fit -- but one is longer!
