63 La Mans
63 La Mans Retirement project.
I got a great deal on a 63 La Mans. I also got two 301 motors, one already built. a 68 frame with the transmission disk brakes ectara. Every thing for $2500.00. I'm new to this forum and looking for some advice. If anyone is interested, I also have the original 326 motor still in the vehicle. |
Is it somehow related to a Pontiac LeMans?
Sorry... I just couldn't resist... |
Unless you are restoring, I’d just stick a 400 in it. Are using the original IRS and rope shaft, or converting to a solid axle?

Welcome to the forums!
The 301 might not be the best choice, but will work. The motor mounts might be a problem unless adapters used. The 400 as said would be a slam dunk. :) |
Lamnas? Is that you?

A 63LeMans came with 3 engine choices. single barrel carb 4 cylinder had 110HP. The 4 barrel 4 cylinder had 166HP. And the quote 326 was not a 326 it was in fact the 331 8 that Pontiac made for the GMC trucks at the time. I am the vice-president of the Little Indians chapter of the POCI. you can contact us at Littleindians.com our club is dedicated to the 61 to 63 Tempest and LeMans cars.

If your the president of the little Indians chapter you know the 326 was a 336 not a 331.
