Larger sway bar hits coils
 

1966 lemans with 1" taller springs. I bought a larger Fbody sway bar and I installed it but it slightly touches the coils. I installed rivnuts in the frame slightly forward to clear the steering and it's not touching but it literally couldn't be any closer. Should I just switch back to the stock bar?

Is the car in the air or is the weight on the suspension? Looking at your shocks they're not centered in the springs. It's hard to see but it almost looks like the springs aren't setting in the cups right.

That is the same thing that jumped out at me, it looks like the springs are not centered in the spring pockets.

Yeah they seem to be sitting in the cups I've checked but man they were a bear to get in. It's possible their not sitting right I just though it might be from being a longer coil. And yes weight on wheels in these pictures.

Make sure the end of spring is aligned with the detent in the cup. Not the best picture but you get the idea.

Have you been able to figure out the problem?

Yes, in fact just this last weekend. Like you fine gentlemen suggested the coils were not completely in their pockets. That solved the spring rubbing issue, but it was still too close to the idler arm. So I upsized and moved the front holes slightly and installed 3/8 rivnuts. Now have about a 1/4 clearance.
