does anyone have a diagram or know what book i could use to help me put glass in doors and side glass of a 1951 chieftain?

You might check out this website https://pontiacchieftain.com/library.php - it has a bunch of information on the 49-54 Chieftains. Might find something in the Fisher manuals or the service manuals.

What you want for describing glass removal/installation is the appropriate Fisher Body Manual ("Body by Fisher Service News") for the body style. I looked through the reference given by Parkman51 and didn't find it.

There's some information on door glass removal/installation in the Canadian manual that may be helpful on the pontiacchieftain.com website start here on page 11 (body section) - this particular information will be the same on US built cars.
