SD455 Exhaust System Swap

I've reached the point in my '71 TA refurb that it's time to start shopping a new exhaust system. I'd like to stick with a basically stock appearing system with a cross flow muffler, but with a larger diameter than originally used.
Could I simply buy a repro '74 SD system and have the advantage of the larger pipes (and no resonators like the '73 used) plus it'd bolt up to my HO manifolds?

I think the '74 bolts up differently than the '73 at the muffler and tail pipe hangers.

Call Eric Gardner and tell him exactly what you want, and they can likely build it for you. Logically it might be a few more bucks than their stock diameter system, but you'd have to ask. I think they offered it to me as an option when I ordered my last system from them.

I was in your shoes upon completion of my TA. I wanted the larger diameter pipes as well.
I went with Eric Gardner and used his 74 Super duty set up on my 71 4 spd TA. The fit and finish was top notch!!! Everything bolted up to factory locations, no trouble at all!! It may have been more than other exhaust systems, but the Quality was second to none, and the customer service was great. I called with some questions while i was installing the exhaust, Eric asked them immediately. Highly recommend.

I'm surprised, not a single vote for Waldrons Exhaust.

I used Waldrons for my 73 TA and loved it. Great fit!

How about Flowmaster 17104 2 1/2". I've been running this system on my 67 for over 20 years.
